I just wanted to send a reminder regarding the officials training that is available next week! We need more certified officials to be able to host USA Swimming Sanctioned Meets at Southern Prairie so PLEASE consider becoming a trained official. Previous training / swim experience not required!!!
To hold an Intrasquad or Dual Meet we need a minimum of 3 certified officials at the meet:
1 Referee (who may also act as a Stroke and Turn Judge)
1 Starter (may be the second Stroke and Turn Judge)
1 Administrative Official
Requirements:
1.Attend an Officials Certification class (no fee)
2.Complete an Apprentice Official Registration Form
3.Register for an account on the USA Swimming website
4.Complete the online test (open book, no time limit)
5.Complete the Non-Athlete member registration form (the Stingrays will pay your registration fee)
6.Register and pay for a Background Check (the Stingrays will also reimburse you for this expense)
7.Complete Athlete Protection Training and Concussion Protocol training (online, no fee)
8.Complete your Apprenticeship (work with certified officials at a sanctioned meet, 4 sessions required, 2 meet minimum)
All new officials, AO (Administrative Official) as well as S/T (Stroke & Turn Judge), need to take the same first session of training which is an overview of USA officiating. After that, S/T and AO need to take a second session specific to the position training.

Tuesday April 6th 7 – 8:30PM
Saturday April 10th 9 – 10:30AM
Wednesday April 14th 5:30 – 7PM

Stroke and Turn specific class:
Wednesday April 7th 7 – 9:30PM
Tuesday April 13th 7 – 9:30PM
Saturday April 17th 9 – 11:30AM

Administrative official specific class:
Thursday April 8th 7 – 9:30PM
Sunday April 11th 1 – 3:30PM
Sunday April 18th 1 – 3:30PM
